For Mothers' Day here, I'd like to share this portrait of my lovely wife, Pauline. Many of you have sent kind wishes concerning her health issues. Since earlier this year she has had some serious medical complications which have prevented further treatment, but those now seem resolved. I'm very glad to advise that, following a teleconference with her oncologist a few days ago, her treatment is likely to resume next week.

All my very best wishes for an enjoyable festive season to all my ipernity friends. In Australia, Christmas is when the fresh fruit is at its best. I hope you'll also enjoy this great Christmas track which (to my surprise) is 60 years old this year.

They don't come much more common than these, but I was delighted to find this House Sparrow in the Callistemon bush outside our motel room in Junee. Besides, it gave an excuse to play with the long lens. :)

Great excitement at the first flower on our (fairly new) frangipanni tree.

When my "new" (well almost 40 y.o.) Pentax SMC 50mm f1.4 lens has arrived, I tested it at close range and wide open on these daisy flowers. Nice narrow D.O.F. and creamy bokeh: I'm smiling.
