Historic New Zealand house

Unlike most colonised countries, the British settlement in New Zealand was formalised with a treaty with the local Maori people in 1840. This was the house of the British Resident who was heavily involved in drafting the Waitangi Treaty . When I visited work was being done on the grounds, hence the fence. Happy Fence Friday and have a good weekend, everyone.

"Bedervale" (see also PiP) is a heritage National Trust listed homestead 2km from Braidwood in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. HFF and best wishes for the weekend, everyone.
Explored.
John Coghill was the captain and part owner of a convict ship. He sold it and purchased some 23 sq km of land in the Braidwood area, where he built (1836-42) and operated “Bedervale”. Convict labour was part of the equation for all these large land owners and Coghill had some 70 labourers assigned to him. It is interesting that “Bedervale” still has a cellar with iron rings on walls where any troublemakers were imprisoned! The transportation of convicts to NSW ceased in 1840 and the social fabric of the colony changed forever with the discovery of gold in 1851.

Old house out in the country - like me, it's seen better days. :-) A dip of my hat to Dave L for inspiration. Try it on black, maybe while listening to this musical link.
Explored.

Mustering Renaults

The Renault 4CV Register of Australia is the national group for old rear-engined Renaults. It holds a national Muster every two years. During the 2013 Muster at Junee, the group visited a historic homestead claimed to be "Australia's most haunted house". No, we didn't see anything spooky! Renault Caravelles in the foreground, 4CVs nearer the house. www.4cvregisteraustralia.org
