Signs!

14 Sep 2023 34 33 251
When I took this, the sign that caught my attention was the one in the middle (to assist the ipernity translator, it reads "ALL DOGS must remain confined to the vehicle".) :-) Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday and a great weekend to follow. This PiP with the vintage petrol pumps was taken near the main image. Leaded petrol was stopped in Australia late in the last century.

Meg's watching

For Macro Mondays group 24/7/2023, topic #319. "Macro of an eye" This is my little West Highland Terrier called Meg - her portrait in the PiP.

Meg's nose knows

For Macro Mondays Group, topic 240 17 January 2022 "Nose or noses". The nasal end of our little West Highland Terrier, "Meg". That nose knows how to lead her to food or other "interesting" things.

Meg

My little West Highland Terrier, "Meg". To her horror, the dog groomer had come by and given her a trim and clean. I took this about a day later, when she still was reasonably tidy. :-)

Coco found a bench

24 Oct 2021 38 35 338
Every morning, my lovely friend Coco insists I take my daily walk - whatever the weather. :-) This day she excelled herself by finding another bench for me. HBM, everyone, I hope it's followed by a good and safe week for you.

Hidden and well guarded fence

09 Sep 2021 35 42 341
Australian native Wonga Wonga Vines (Pandorea pandorana) , helping to cover the otherwise boring metal fence. Over in the right corner is my little West Highland Terrier "Meg", in her favourite sunny position. The Wonga Wonga Vines flower from late winter to summer and are currently in full flower. Another image of the hidden fence in the PiPs, also some images I've previously posted of the flowers from these vines. Well, it's spring here and it's started off with perfect weather. Happy Fence Friday everyone, and have a safe and enjoyable weekend. I've also added a link to a musical classic that was released 50 years ago today (starts at about 40 sec) and is as relevant as ever.

Meg

It's a while since I posted a photo of a pet. This is Meg, the West Highland Terrier. She's quite a lot of fun to have around, but very much in need of washing and grooming. White dogs may look good, but don't stay that way!

We have two dogs, Coco (previous image) and Meg, who is a West Highland Terrier. We received Meg as a small pup and she has been raised by Coco - in the process acquiring a relaxed Labrador style temperament. She is supposed to be white, but that never lasts long as she rummages around in our garden. :-)

Coco

Coco is our Chocolate Labrador. She is darker than most (I'd think about 85% cocoa) and probably the most gentle and softest natured dog I've met.

Here's looking at you.

I decided there are not enough photos of brown dogs on ipernity. :-) This is my furry friend 'Coco'. And here's a musical link. Explored.

Horrified!

22 Nov 2017 21 15 757
Our little West Highland Terrier "Meg" had developed a very matted coat while we were away. So we sent her to the local veterinarian where she was given a comprehensive crewcut. The poor thing was totally horrified at the result and shunned us (except at meal time) for a few days. The note shows how she should have looked. We have promised we won't do it again. :-) Explored.

A well-loved pet with which we stayed a few nights in the course of our travels. Still far from home and likely to be an intermittent visitor for a while yet. Great to return online tonight and to find that the IMA now has full running of the site. Club membership renewed. :-)

Along the jetty

Nothing like a stroll on a jetty on a warm summer's day. HFF, everyone.

Coco

We've had Coco, our Chocolate Labrador since she was a pup, for five years last weekend. She really is such a sweet natured friend. Best viewed large. Explored.

Its a dog's life

"Coco", our female chocolate Labrador. Explored.

Meg

Meg turns one year old this week. This was taken some time ago - entirely unposed, she climbed into her toy box and it was a rush to grab the camera. View on black. Explored.

Our old mate has now gone, after sharing 13 great years with us. Always a gentle giant.

Cold run

23 Aug 2012 472
From an old 1966 slide. This group of serious looking people was part of one of the doctor's regular experiments on acclimatisation (generally called "cold runs"). The idea was to stand around outdoors for a given period, then record how cold it felt ... goodness knows if it proved much!
