Jimtown isn't actually a town but a community connection since 1895, when Jim Patrick founded his eponymous general store to serve as post office and meeting place for residents of Alexander Valley. It's currently looking for a new owner ... feel like moving to California? :-) jimtown.com

Apples used to be Sonoma County's largest crop, now long since superseded by grapes for winemaking, which is far more profitable. But here are still a number of orchards and processors, such as manzanaproductsco.com

We're having a good amount of rain here in California and grateful for it, even if it means some areas will see flooding. The flooding here, however, is natural, as this is part of the Laguna de Santa Rosa wetlands.
