the ferry crosses from suffolk to norfolk across the border that lies along the river yare. there is no bridge except those by norwich and great yarmouth , so the ferry is extremely handy for travels north / south.

the ferry takes a couple of cars at a time, and takes a few minutes to haul itself across. there's a pub on the north bank, nothing but miles of marsh to the south.
