1708 base of windpump in front of the pump engine house of 1767, which took a steam pump by smeaton, enlarged by mylne in 1790 for boulton and watts' bigger engines. access to an active borehole remains via the round building, and a modern pump is still in use within the engine house.

c14 conduit that once supplied greyfriars and christ's hospital with water, now languishing unseen in the grounds of the waterworks in finsbury. it was brought from queen square in bloomsbury in 1927 and sits down within the old inner reservoir pond, the curved retaining wall seen in the foreground.

c14 conduit that once supplied greyfriars and christ's hospital with water, now langishing unseen in the grounds of the waterworks in finsbury. flash from 30 foot did little to illuminate the interior, but there seem to be steps down to a pool. no lock on the gate, but a hedge, fence and drop down into the old inner pond make access difficult enough. guards and cameras too if such things put you off. . . .

c14 conduit with added bits brought here from whitefriars in 1540. the c12 arch and bits of zigzag in the distance probably came from st mark's on the high st. when it was demolished in the late c20, as were so many here in lincoln.

built in english bond brick this exedra fronts the reservoir of the hospital, dates from the early c18 and stylistically is most likely by vanbrugh, being akin to his ordnance works.
