the exterior of sir charles reilly's 1909-11 church is hemmed in by other buildings and hard to see in its entirety, this is the west end. reilly was a modernist in love with america, and this looks like a voysey factory or an a.e.g. turbine hall rather than anything else. perhaps he saw it as a machine for praying in.

the apse of sir charles reilly's 1909-11 church is only accessible by squeezing down the side of the building through a lot of rubbish. the line from here to guildford cathedral is pretty clear.

n.e. chapel added c.1550, using money obtained from timely sale of fittings before henry VIII's men could grab them. the rood stair turret is a little older.
