interior of fat architecture's design collaboration with grayson perry for a holiday cottage now being built on the essex coast. recent photos show great attention to detail from the builders; it is hard to judge the internal spaces, especially the double height living area on the right with no ground floor windows evident here.

surprisingly interesting little design collaboration with grayson perry built on the essex coast. recent photos show great attention to detail from the builders with the entire place covered with tiles; this is a nice little folly reminding me of norwegian stave churches and I'll be interested to see the interior when that's done as it is hard to judge the internal spaces, especially the living area with no ground floor windows evident here. it's to be a holiday let, a seaside jeu d'esprit though probably not cheap. can't say I ever warmed to the man when I knew him in the 80s; this is the first thing of his I've actually liked.

unusual neo-georgian tombstone of mary and william perry, 1936 and 1937. this is exactly the sort of thing that pevsner would have hated, not being at the cutting edge of art of its time, yet it's much more interesting than most tombstones of its period. it is falling over at present, and could do with resetting upright as well worth preserving
