the main drag in aberdeen, union street, is built across several valleys, resulting in the need for stairs such as these up to it from below.

steps and alleys lead off the old high street on its route to the harbour, they should lead to open squares with cafes and galleries and markets, but this town's rebranding seems to have slowed for the present at least. a pity as it has potential.
