perhaps the incumbent was very low, but did he have to depress us too ? view through the window showing that the church seems to have suffered some holocaust, and then been restored by an interior designer more used to furnishing dole offices. only someone who hankered after a soulless modern box would do this to an old church: red carpets and lino floors would be bad enough without the serried ranks of office chairs marching up to the banal migraine inducing banners that seem inseperable from such churches , which desire modern relevance for their religion at the expense of history and the numinous. norman and dec. windows survive for now.
