in the graveyard of st.mary's is this statue of 1897of the actress by leon-joseph chavalliaud, in her most famous role as a tragic muse, taken from reynold's painting. she is buried in the graveyard to the north , where her tomb could do with some t.l.c.

in the graveyard to the north of the new church, near the position of the former building, is the burial place of sarah siddons, who died in 1831 at the age of 76. unmarked apart from the epitaph on the low facade of the stone, which is becoming difficult to decipher. it has a later iron canopy, which is itself surrounded by a really ugly protective fence.
