west end of south aisle, with left hand door to tower base, and door to spiral stair to priests' room and roof, late c15. this whole area is full of rubbish; surely such an interesting feature could be better presented.

the west front of the church. the tower was begun late c13, standing alone, and only later joined to the c14 nave with its big c15 west window. it is how the gap was bridged that gives this church its greatest interest; as seen here the link is multi storied and complex.

the tower was begun in the c13, but is mostly c14, as is the nave and this aisle window. the junction of tower and church with its rooms and passages on 4 levels seems late c15

the link between tower and church is multi storied and complex. on the ground floor is a vaulted chamber giving access to the base of the tower. there are stairs to a room over this, contiuing to the nave roof; there is a passage over the first floor room to the ringing chamber, and another above that which is vaulted leading from the nave roof to a stairway going up the tower. quite why such a complicated arrangement was followed is unclear, it looks fairly ad hoc internally, and seems from the vaults to be c15
