detail of the church built in 1826-8 by w.chadwell mylne for the new river company's estate, they gave the land, and requested of the church building commissioners that they use their architect. this is his only church , and the west front is very effective as street theatre, though the iron tracery and cosmetic buttresses probably did not find favour with later ecclesiologists.
