stone carved mitre from the city gate known as bishopsgate, c18. it was on the keystone above the fairly simple roundheaded arch which was set into a flat fronted gateway decorated only with rusicated channeling similar to that seen here. there were also two small pedestrian archways, and the city arms above a short attic storey
