the church was rebuilt in 1611-14, and contains many tombs of the smith family of hill hall. not that you and I can see them: our heritage here has been privatised and the church is always locked, with no key available. that this is not a policy that safeguards churches can be seen in the fact that the door bears signs of having been broken into at least once recently.
