the arcades of the c14 nave are on a scale to suit the regal work at the east end, but there money seems to have run out, with a somewhat impoverished clerestory setting small lights above the columns, allowing a lower roof.

Whilst this is a great building for the work of Bodley in 1859 with all of its pre-raphaelite artwork, the Burges work suffers from the lack of the master's hand in the detail, having been built late in the c19 after his death.
