Landeanflug auf Darwin nach einem knapp 4,5-stündigen Flug von Singapur. Darwin ist mit fast 150.000 Einwohnern die nördlichste Großstadt Australiens und Hauptstadt des Bundesstaats Northern Territory. Approaching Darwin after a four and a half hours flight from Singapore. With a population of about 150,000, Darwin is the largest city of the Northern Territory and capital city at the same time.

Ein kurzes Lebenszeichen von mir an meine Freunde bei ipernity. Ich hoffe, es geht Euch allen gut! Ich bin zwar inzwischen in Kurzarbeit, komme aber finanziell noch gerade so über die Runden, nur die freie Zeit ist trotzdem immer viel zu knapp :-) Aber Hauptsache ist, dass wir alle gesund sind und es auch bleiben! Da aus meinem geplanten Urlaub Ende März ja leider nichts mehr wurde und ich das Thema für dieses Jahr auch abgehakt habe, schwelge ich jetzt in Erinnerungen an alte Urlaube und möchte Euch in nächster Zeit dorthin mitnehmen. Dieser Blick aus knapp 10 km Höhe auf die fantastische indonesische Inselwelt am Rande der Floressee entstand während des Flugs von Singapur nach Darwin/Australien.
 Hier bedroht derzeit nicht der Massentourismus, sondern der Klimawandel die kleinen Paradiese, die nur knapp 8 Meter über den Meeresspiegel ragen.

I hope you are all fine! Currently, I have to work short-time with a reduced salary, but somehow I am still getting along financially, only my free time is always running short :-) But the most important thing is that we are all healthy and remain so! Since my long planned holidays at the end of March had been cancelled and I have dismissed the idea of making any new holiday plans for this year, I reminisce about former holidays and would like to take you there with me. This view from about 10 km above onto the fantastic Indonesian island world at the edge of the Flores Sea was taken during a flight from Singapore to Darwin/Northern Australia. These small paradisical islands are not threatened by mass tourism but rather by climate change since they are situated only 8 metres above sea level. From left to right you can see Pulau Jailamu, Pulau Sabaru, and Pulau Balobaloang Besar.

Von den vielen Aussichtspunkten am Boden aus betrachtet bieten die Felsformationen an der Great Ocean Road schon jede Menge fantastische Anblicke. Unübertroffen sehen sie natürlich von oben aus, deswegen gönnte ich mir am Ende meiner ersten Australienreise im November 2009 noch diesen Helikopterrundflug. Gerade noch rechtzeitig, denn kurz darauf zog der Himmel zu...
