Das Kruzifix ging aus der Leprose von La Payasse hervor, was zeitweilig zu dem Namen „Christ lépreux“ (Der aussätzige Christus) geführt hat. The crucifix emerged from the leprosy of La Payasse which has temporarily led to the name "Christian lépreux" (The leprous Christ).
