113 pictures in 2013: #79, clashing colors. I had a hard time with this one because there always seems to be some kind of color harmony photographically even when colors don't "go." Like in quilt making. But for me, pink and red don't jibe.

The "electrifying water wall," part of Mohegan Sun , a casino created in 1996 by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. The resort now boasts "300,000 square feet of gaming excitement" in addition to 40 restaurants, hotels, shopping mall, and entertainment venues. The glass sculpture is "River Blue" by Dale Chihuly. 111 pictures in 2011: #92, celebration.

Miss Fran is an experienced flower arranger, volunteering for Tryon Palace at Christmas time. This particular piece, with scallop shells, grapes, and larkspur, will decorate the mantel in the Palace dining room. I was her apprentice for a few hours! New Bern, North Carolina.
