I like their worried expressions (more pictures of them to come, taken in 2011). Allegedly "carved of Rosso di Verona marble that is from near San Ambrogio Valpolicello in Italy, these lions are believed to date to the late nineteenth century and were not put in place until late 1899 or early 1900."

I like their expressions--they look anxious rather than fierce. Or maybe they're tired of posing with tourists. Or just put out at the sissifying effect of the holiday garland.
