This sculpture of a corona-virus was put in front of the Regensburg University Medical Faculty and Clinic a couple of years ago. For a long time this sculpture was of no special interest to most passers by. Now it has become "popular" for the reasons all of us know.

This picture shows the reflection of a piece of art called "Karyatide" by the sculptor Fritz Koenig (1924–2017). It was put in front of the main entrance of Regensburg University (founded in 1967 - 50 years ago). Fritz Koenig was born in Landshut, in the vicinity of Regensburg. He became famous outside the world of art in 2001, because his sculpture "The Sphere" placed between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in Manhattan survived miraculously the attacks of 9/11 and was then reerected in Liberty Park.
