The lower image shows a median with low vegetation, like yuccas. The sidewalks are lined with palm trees, blue palo verde and some deciduous trees. They seemed inclined to favor the Chinese Pistache (second from the left in the top row) as the deciduous tree. More Chinese Pistache images here.

The lower image shows a design concept for Pierson and Palm. North is to the right. Should we worry that they label it Palm "Boulevard"?

The medians would be decorated with chunks of recycled glass (along with boulders and plants) to suggest water. At night, lights under the median would shine up through the glass.

The upper image is a section of the canopy over the sidewalk showing signage, lighting and shade. The lower image is the sidewalk plan, the pattern repeating the 45-degree angles replicating the vortex lines: the San Andreas, the wind, the slope of the land, and the views of Mts. San Jacinto and San Gorgonio.
