I don't write in my journal daily, but have kept it up for years--decades, really--and sometimes amuse myself by looking back on what seemed important at the time.

I've kept a journal for years, sometimes writing daily, just as often letting weeks go by before resuming entries. Interesting to look back now and then, compare one day to another, same date-different year.
