I was struck by the contrast of the gnarled roots and the swift, smooth flow of the water over the rocks.

Nikkormat FT2, Nikkor-H 28/3.5, Fuji ISO 200 film, f5.6 - 1/250.

I had to compose quickly, and the focus isn't what I'd hoped for (the heron wouldn't stand still), but I like the rocks. Pentax SF1n, SMC Pentax-A 80-200/4.7-5.6, Kodak 400 film.

This was yesterday, after a night of rainfall. The river hadn't risen above the path that runs along the banks, and so we were able to walk a ways and take in the drama of the rain-swollen river and its rapids.
