Valencia – Lonja de la Sede (silk exchange) The Lonja was founded in 1469 as an oil market. The design comes from a similar building in Palma. The architects were Pere Compte, Juan Yvarra, Domingo Urtiaga and Johan Corbera. The first stones were delivered on February 15, 1483, that was the day the construction begun. It therefore lasted until 1533 (50 years) until the construction with its crenellated tower and the gothic contract hall were completed. During the following centuries Lonja served as a silk market. ➽ Wiki ➽ Saturday Self-Challenge , Sa. 09.02.2019; Topic: "Patterns in color". ➽ PIP 1 – Praça Dom Pedro IV, Lisboa.
