I think this may be aleuria aurantia, the orange peel fungus also called the great orange elf cup. One area have quite a few of these growing together. Others were more solitary. Taken at Camp Sumatanga, Etowah County, Alabama. (DSC05658)
White cupped mushroom

This fungus was growing on a dead tree. It is very large, at least 8 inches across and looks like a pale yellow flower. Growing in woods near Gallant in Etowah County, Alabama.
