These toads were hanging around in the rain just outside my garage door. They tried to hop away when I opened the door, but I manged to corral them. I kept trying to keep them together long enough for a shot, but they weren't of a mind to cooperate. One or the other would hop off just as I was ready to shoot. Persistence finally paid off and I managed to get one of them together. Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_4768)

Was out this morning looking for some subjects for the first day of 365 project when I noticed this guy swimming for its life in a large plastic container that was partially filled with water. The sides were to slick to climb and the water was quite cool. So I rescued it. Since it was cold and exhausted, it was a pliant subject. In my garden, Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_4219)

As you can see this toad has taken up residence in the pot of one of my succulent plants. It is not the first time toads have found the loose gravelly soil to their liking. I had to boot this one out because the plant was being returned to the greenhouse. Etowah County, Alabama.

This toad had taken up residence in a flower pot. Amazingly it let me get very close with my camera, possibly because it was a rather chilly evening. Etowah County, Alabama.
