Quarries are generally small plain panels of glass, often diamond shaped. Robert Eberhard records this window as 'quarries' so they may come with decoration as well. The wheat sheaves are the Kemp(e) family trade mark. The acorns also seem to have family connections. Charles Kempe (he added the 'e' later in his life) and his parents lived in Ovingdean and all are buried in the churchyard. He and his studio were among the foremost designers and makers of stained glass windows in Victorian and Edwardian times.
