I didn't get any nearer than this. It may look fairly close but it is seen at the end of my telephoto lens. My feet were already feeling weary and I turned east and headed towards Lewes station and a 313 class EMU home!

I initially thought that this was the village school, with play equipment in the yard and I suppose it may have been in a past life, but it is now quite a handsome village hall.

I would probably get a better picture of the village if I climbed up onto the South Downs, but walking from Iford to Lewes, more or less on the level was enough for my legs that turn 70 next year!

This is probably the widest point of the valley of the Sussex Ouse, certainly in the part south of Lewes.
