These are the best of the photos I took of these birds, which inhabit the capitals of the columns, of Blackfriars road bridge. It crosses the Thames, in central London. The birds on the upstream side of the bridge are fresh-water species and those on the downstream side are sea birds. They are quite difficult to photograph from above. Some of the species are not immediately as obvious as the swans and herons.
