Rhenish Tower - Lynmouth. was originally built in the late 1850s by General Rawdon to store salt water to supply his house with sea baths. A light was later added as a beacon for local shipping. The current building is an exact replica, as the original, seen above, was destroyed in the disastrous floods in 1952

A scan of an old black & white print from my Grandfather's collection. The originals have been presented to the local records office for North Devon. The white spot near the centre of the photo is a hole made by a woodworm. They had eaten their way through one batch of the prints, with anything upto ten holes in each print. When scanning them for my archive, I managed to clone out the holes, in most cases, but must have missed this one.
