Phil Sutters' photos with the keyword: American

I found a photo of this car at a hill trial event, in the UK, and have taken the details from there. When I looked at 1957 Pontiacs on-line I was confused, because this car does not have the projecting lights, on either side of the radiator grille, which almost all the others seem to have. Would they have been contrary to UK regulations? It is definitely a 1957 model. They seem to have made very distinct changes to the appearance each year.

I haven't so far identified the make, model or year. Any thoughts?
