Bench for train spotting - 5.3.2015

26 Mar 2015 1 289
Even when I am haphazardly shooting at random from a train, at some point I'll snap a bench! Yes, I know, if I wait for a station to come along I am almost guaranteed to see several benches, but I mean out in the open. I think that there are only a couple of trains each way, each hour, so perhaps that's why it looks so under-used. Mind you it could have something to do with birds perching on the branches above, judging by the white splodges.

Brockham, Betchworth - from a train - 5.3.2015

Having shot these from a passing train I have used online mapping to identify the location. So it could be wildly inaccurate. It was the relationship of the main run of cottages to the long red-tiled building to the the left of the picture, that led me to the Brockham location. I shall be happy to change it if someone has a more accurate site.

Belted Galloways on the North Downs - 5.3.2015

14 Mar 2015 2 305
Belted Galloways are a rare breed from the south-west of Scotland. This photo was taken from a train on the Guildford to Redhill line. Even at this distance their bold black and white colouring is very distinctive.

Not the most beautiful station in the world! It is on the line between Guildford & Redhill.
