Burnham-on-Sea - Summer 1970

28 Oct 2015 4 5 426
This is a fairly straight scan from a 35mm slide. Anyone who visits Burnham has to have a photo with the Lower Light. That light when aligned with the more traditional Upper light, guided ships through the treacherous channels in the mud. It was decommissioned in 1969, just before this photo was taken, but returned to active service in 1993, when the High Lighthouse was decommissioned.

Bowls at Seaford Crouch Bowling Club - 29.7.2014

The Crouch is the name of a small park in Seaford, East Sussex. I can't remember the origin of the name. So the club's name is not derived from a style or technique of bowling!

Bentley at Bishopstone Village Fete 29.4.2011

This I was told, is a repro Bentley on a Rolls chassis! An online registration number check shows this is a 1936 black and green tourer - make unknown. Clearly the style is for an older model, so the repro suggestion seems likely.

Unusually for me I have let the light speak for itself. Apart from the 'framing' I have not done any processing.
