leaf brushes greetings card base

03 Sep 2018 3 187
This was made from Photoshop 'brushes' in the form of leaf images. It is the basis for greetings cards, possibly those with messages like 'With sympathy' or 'Thinking of you', which is why the bottom right hand corner has been left fairly empty.

Palmate leaves - original image

The following three images are based on this photo of some beautiful leaves and flowers that were beside the A259 main coast road to the east of Newhaven. The different colour mixtures were made by using 'color gradients' within Photoshop Elements 10 software. A range of colours is applied replacing different tones within the original picture. So the original can be mono or coloured; the colours attach themselves to dark or light shades. If anyone can tell me what species of bush or tree this is, that would be helpful.

saplings in a chequered landscape

The chequered landscape, in the background, is another image rescued from the files. The sky was masked using a shape made from a fractal brush and then the hue was adjusted. The river was several layers of another fractal brush. The saplings were made from one of the PSE 'shapes' and then copied, rotated and shaded with a black to clear gradient. If you don't do Photoshop then this is all gobbledygook, so please ignore my ramblings - it's a bit early in the morning to be too coherent!
