A small group of four photos, taken by my father in 1936-8. They were scanned from negatives, which included some for which there are prints in an album dated 1936. In this one the ship's name is clear enough to read, so I know which way round this scene should be.
4/7/2020 A rather dark print has now turned up, identifying this scene as Bridport in Dorset.

A small group of four photos, taken by my father in 1936-7. They were scanned from negatives, which included some for which there are prints, in an album dated 1936. I think that the orientation of this one is correct, as there is a sign on the ironmongers to the right of the ships, that reads the right way round.
A print has now been found in an album showing this scene as in Brixham in September 1937. The print is quite dark so this version will stay.

A small group of four photos, taken by my father in 1936-8. They were scanned from negatives, which included some for which there are prints, in an album dated 1936. It is not known whether this image is the right way round. The picture certainly looks best this way round.
Other negatives in the same packet are of scenes in Cornwall, so it is likely that these three are also Cornish ports, or possibly Devon ones.
The fourth is of Looe, identified by the bridge.
Later
A print of this scene has now been found. It is of Brixham, which is in Devon, so I will have to a. see if the print scans better than the negative and, if it doesn't, correct the caption on the image! (Even later) It didn't and I have!
