For the record - yes, I did have one and walked along the seafront eating it, while others sat in their cars eating theirs.

These aren't great photos. I just wanted to give credit to the people who go out in all weathers to keep us fed.

Perhaps there is less waste to attract gulls from these little boats that service the lobster and crayfish pots, for which the flagged marker buoys are used.

This is probably the same group of Ringed Plovers that I recorded a few days ago, although they seem to have lost their companions - a couple of Dunlin..

This is the more decorative detritus! There were plenty of plastic bottles, rubber gloves and chunks of wood and plastic, almost all brought in on the tide.

This little batch of photos was taken on my way to the barbers. It's great to live where one can take in interesting and attractive views on one's daily business.

Unusually for me I have let the light speak for itself. Apart from the 'framing' I have not done any processing.
Central Eastbourne! - 10.12.2013

Look at a map and you will see that these are the Eastbourne Levels. The town is a 'U' shape, with the Levels running north-south, in the middle. The side of the town shown here, is at the eastern end of the South Downs. The other side, beyond the railway line, spreads out into the marshland around Pevensey Bay. The main part of the resort is off to the left, once one has passed through its light industrial sector.
I know that this isn't the most exciting scene, but when we moved down to the coast, nine miles west of here, I was unaware how far the countryside projected into Eastbourne. So I thought it might be of interest to others, who have perhaps only seen the central area between the shopping centre and sea-front.
