Toothless old git - drawn & quartered, maybe hung…

This is one of a group of photos which was an essay on two days experience, most of which I have now hidden from view. A couple of me looking in a sorry state is quite sufficient. Day one - I visited an exhibition entitled 'Drawing the unspeakable'. Artists putting into images horrors, fears and anguish which they found hard or impossible to put into words. Day 2 - I visited my dentist to take the initial steps to replace a number of rotten teeth, with an upper denture. The lower jaw had already received that treatment satisfactorily a few years ago. I decided to record the sorry state of my mouth without the benefit of the lower denture. Having had the first experience of seeing other people's emotional images, I realize that I am very lucky to be able to get treatment and only experience short-lived minor discomfort, despite the rather unpleasant self-portrait that I have recorded. I am fascinated how the different treatment of the four sections of this picture makes it look as if they are to slightly different scales, yet it is the one image divided and merely given different Photoshop filters. Nothing has moved.
