'Pickel Herring Str' from the east

A map of around 1884, ten years before Tower Bridge was completed, shows the most northerly street in this area, running through this scene, parallel with the river, as Pickel Herring Street. It extended beyond where Tower Bridge is now, to meet up with Shad Thames, at the other end of what is now Butlers Wharf.
The area in the foreground is now 'Potters Field Park', with London's City Hall and H.M.S. Belfast forming the backdrop. The dome of Saint Paul's Cathedral, in the background, is probably the only thing that would have been the same, at the time the map was drawn. On second thoughts, the Cannon Street railway station towers would also have been there.
I uploaded this, when, looking at a map of the area, from about 1884, I was struck by the contrast between the old street name and the current look of the place. The map is now at www.ipernity.com/doc/364457/27913037
Pickel Herring Str is at the top right of the map.
