It was a very hazy day when I visited, so the photos from 100 metres up didn't turn out well. This view shows a silhouette of the tower over the adjacent railway station, with the Historic Dockyard behind.

The frequent ferry service over to Gosport gives a good view of the Historic Dockyard, including HMS Warrior. Reading the website, I find that this was Britain’s first iron-hulled, armoured battleship and was launched in 1860.

I encountered this old tram shelter outside the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. On further investigation, I discovered that it was previously situated on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea, but was relocated away from its exposed position, where it suffered from bad weather blowing in off The Solent.
