At the other end of my stroll along the beach at Selsey, I found a similar signpost offering good advice this time.

A visit to the Sussex coast and the first thing I encountered was this quirky signpost. The polariser was in full effect.

The Thames Path has recently been rerouted in the Inglesham area, now tracking the river much more closely. Hence the revisit to this part of the world. This is the Church of St John the Baptist, dating from the 13th Century

I took the path towards Ecton (and went past Wetton Mill down in the Manifold Valley an hour or so later)

The South Downs Way takes alternative routes into Eastbourne - a footpath for walkers and a more inland bridleway for riders.. A couple of other routes also originate here.

These make route-finding easy - in more remote areas, things are a little trickier.

The footpath leads down to the village of Glynde (location of Glyndebourne Opera House)

On a rare dry and sunny Sunday, lots of people were out and about on the South Downs
