One of the front rooms in the pub. The Sarah Hughes Brewery is renowned for its Dark Ruby Mild, and that's a pint of it just there.

The building dates from the 1860s. A look at CAMRA's pub heritage page indicates that there's more to the interior than I managed to spot - a return visit is required!

The pub is commonly known as Ma Pardoes, after Doris Clare Pardoe (born 1899) who owned it until her death in 1984 at 85 years old. Open all day, as you can see.
