I hope you have a fine and Happy Fence Friday, and that your minutes, hours and day are calm and pleasing. Hurrah for the coming weekend. This was early yesterday morning, just after sunrise. The bridge is over one of the residential canals in Mandurah, WA, leading to the marina and Dolphin Quay.

A Happy Fence Friday to everyone. May your days (and weekends and December) be merry and bright. This is a fibro fence, very common throughout WA (and probably all of rural and suburban Australia too). Simple, plain and functional; what more could we ask of a fence.

A Happy Bench Monday to all. This bench sits in the centre of an art installation called Meeting Place on the Western Foreshore in Mandurah. Sound from the air movement through the gaps in the structure above the bench can be heard at all times, but is particularly clear from the bench in the centre. It is a gentle musical susurration which is extremely restful. At night the structure lights up bluish-green, although it constantly changes to give a pulsating effect. It really is beautiful and serves no purpose except to be beautiful, which is possibly the highest purpose of all.

Wow! Five fences - a veritable cornucopia! A very Happy Fence Friday to everyone. I hope your day and your weekend bring you joy. We may even get some rain here in Mandurah (though I'll believe it when I see it) - an event which will be celebrated with abandon by all, although dancing naked in the streets whilst splashing in the puddles may be frowned upon by the wowsers.
