May I wish you all a Happy Fence Friday. Stay warm or cool, depending on your location and preferences. And believe that things can only get better.

A Happy Wednesday Wall to everyone. I hope your week has been good so far, and that the rest of it is even better. Cling to moments of joy in this uncertain world.
(I'm not 100% sure whether this picture qualifies for a "wall" group. Dear HWW Administrators, if you decide this is not wall-ish enough for the group, please feel free to remove it. I won’t feel offended, honestly.)

This picture and the two previous photographs are of the same place (the "Light Event" installation by Rebecca Baumann in the abandoned Carillon City mall in Perth). You will notice, however, that the colour cast is slightly different in each photo. This is because of the changes in the light coming through the dome as the sun moves or hides behind clouds. Interestingly, when one is physically in the space the colour cast is far less apparent.

The pink colour in this photograph is produced by daylight shining through the dome at the top of the space. This building is the old Carillon City shopping mall in the centre of Perth which closed in 2021 and will soon be demolished.
For the Perth Festival in 2024 Rebecca Baumann created “Light Event” in the three storey glass atrium which once led down these staircases to the food hall. The colour comes from dichroic film applied to the atrium windows. During the day the colour changes as the sun moves.
I have many fond memories of this place over the years …
