The building is no longer used as a town hall but it retains this splendid mosaic depicting astronavigation, including a telescope, ship and signs of the zodiac. The mosaic was created by Carter and Co. tilemakers of Poole.

Queen Elizabeth College was founded in 1576 for the poor elderly people of Greenwich. The present-day buildings were built in 1818 and after much modernisation now provide 40 self-contained one-bedroom cottages. Greenwich High Road, opposite the train station.
