This is the first 12 rows of Elizabeth Zimmermann's pattern for the Baby Surprise Sweater . I've never knit this pattern before, and it's a bit of a mystery. Words of wisdom or support from other knitters who have made this are much appreciated. I'll post more pix of this work in progress in the next few weeks. The sweater is taking shape. This is how it will be folded to make the sleeves.

The gift might actually be finished by the time the baby is 3 months old. Now up to row 48.

Baby Surprise Sweater, with only 4 rows left to go. It sure doesn't look like a sweater.

I admit -- Elizabeth Zimmermann was a genius. This is how the lumpy mass of wool is folded to become a sweater. The only seams will be on the top of the sleeves.

A neck warmer that I'm knitting for myself. It's 75% done at this point.

This is my third attempt at putting a cable cuff on these mittens. I'm trying to come up with something that's a cross between the Fetching fingerless mitts and a full mitten. If I decide the cuff is too tight, I'm either going to knit normal mittens or go back to the tried-and-true Fetching pattern.

Making this with some lovely Noro Silk Garden Lite that I got with the WEBS gift certificate I won in the raffle.

Beginning of a top-down raglan cardigan for myself, made with wonderful bamboo yarn. I've made a couple of mistakes and had to unknit a few rows -- I blame it on watching Absolutely Fabulous while I'm trying to knit something with tricky instructions.

I haven't uploaded any WIP pix of the cardigan in a long time. I really am working on it --- slowly. I've actually knit about 3" of one sleeve since I took this pic.

Left mitt, palm up. These will be convertible (flip-top) mitts for moi.

Right mitt, palm down. The four finger tubes are now finished on each mitt. Next, the thumbs and then the flip-tops.

I tossed my stripy socks on the bench next to the back door and they landed next to this hat that I hardly ever wear because I have nothing to go with it. Realizing that the yarn colors match the hat perfectly, I ran out for more wool to knit a scarf.
