At the time of the Battle of the Alamo (1836), the old mission was pretty derelict. This building didn't even have a roof at that time. The famous facade was added in the late 1800s.

This is one of the remaining exterior walls of Mission San Antonio de Valero. The mission was built in the early 1700s; it was secularized in 1793, used as a fort, and renamed The Alamo.

I thought they were made of Texas limestone, seeing as how everything in San Antonio seems to be made of the stuff, but it turns out they are precast concrete.

Emily Morgan Hotel

The Medical Arts Building was repurposed in 1985 as the Emily Morgan Hotel, named after the "Yellow Rose of Texas." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yellow_Rose_of_Texas That's the wall of the Alamo in the lower right corner.
