These metal discs in the pavement resemble coal hole covers but they are actually sculptures by Keith Bowler. A total of 25 of them, each one depicting a different aspect of the Spitalfields area, were installed in 2017. I'm not sure how many remain. So far, I've found four of them. This one is in Fournier Street, former home of many silk weavers, and is a silk design based on the work of Anna Maria Garthwaite (1690-1763). Victorians decried this street Barbaric, they said, discordant. LOOK NOW The buildings stand the same. Minds and hearts change. (Colin Thubron – 2004) This is the first I've seen of the seven coal hole covers with poems around Notting Hill. There's a map here: www.pavementpoetry.com You can read more about them on this blog: coalholesoflondon.wordpress.com/2011/12/29/coal-hole-poems
