Twist Loot from Goody Bag

03 May 2009 161
Yesterday I went to TWIST, a fab craft fair. They charged $3 to get in (and it wasn't even a charity fundraiser!), but the first 75 people in the door got goody bags full of all kinds of great loot. I bought somebody a really nice graduation prezzie there.

I made this monster for four-year-old Eloise, who said when she got her, "I've been waiting for her for my whole life." Purple and pink are Eloise's favorite colors.

Green Thumb Mitts

23 Sep 2009 165
Prezzie for one of my mates. There are now 11 or 12 pairs of my hand knit mitts being worn by Londoners, most by my Flickr mates, but three pair by the wankers who nicked them from their intended recipients.

I must have knit dozens of these in December to give as prezzies to my mates.

Yoga Sox for Rosenbeans

These comfy, wool sox were knit from a really great pattern with easy, faux cables. She'll have to take a photo of herself wearing them while doing some super-bendy yoga position.

Mitts for ScribeGirl

ScribeGirl was the recipient of one of my first pairs of photographer's mitts, and she wore them out. These are a replacement pair. Even though she now lives in The South, she still has need for fingerless mitts when on winter photo rambles.

Scarf for Spooner

The cables are reversible, so the scarf looks the same on both sides, which is very cool. The yarn is wicked soft -- wool, silk and cashmere.

Scarf for Louan

My friend Blue Peninsula wrote this great pattern . NB: I screwed up the first row of "berries;" the pattern is written just fine, but one shouldn't try this after a big Thanksgiving dinner, a few glasses of wine, and in dim light, as I did.

Mitts for Moi

All the best-dressed photographers wear fingerless mitts. Made with self-striping sock yarn on teeny tiny needles. I love the scrunchy ruffles on the cuffs.

Scarf for Rosenbeans

Made with bamboo yarn left over from my sweater. Rosenbeans likes that it's very soft and no-itch.

Mitts for the Mojettes

I made these mitts for Major (the blue pair) and Minor (the red pair). Myrtle tells me they are a big hit.
