Bright sunlight makes it hard to read the plaque. It says:
"In medieval times this was an unconsecrated graveyard for prostitutes or "Winchester Geese." By the 18th century it had become a paupers' burial ground, which closed in 1853. Here local people have created a memorial shrine. The Outcast Dead R.I.P."

There are over 120,000 people buried here, in an area a little under an acre. People buried in this unconsecrated graveyard were primarily Protestant nonconformists who dissented from the Church of England. Bunhill Fields opened in the late 17th c and was closed to burials in 1854 when it became full.

William Blake 1757 - 1827. I've never read any Blake, so I don't know if I like him. I wonder why people have put coins on the top of his stone.

Unconsecrated burial ground of prostitutes, paupers and other outcasts. The memorial shrine is on an iron gate in front of a lot filled with construction materials. I read somewhere that the shrine may be torn down soon.
