Bright sunlight makes it hard to read the plaque. It says: "In medieval times this was an unconsecrated graveyard for prostitutes or "Winchester Geese." By the 18th century it had become a paupers' burial ground, which closed in 1853. Here local people have created a memorial shrine. There are over 120,000 people buried here, in an area a little under an acre. People buried in this unconsecrated graveyard were primarily Protestant nonconformists who dissented from the Church of England. Bunhill Fields opened in the late 17th c and was closed to burials in 1854 when it became full. See where this picture was taken. [?]

William Blake 1757 - 1827. I've never read any Blake, so I don't know if I like him. I wonder why people have put coins on the top of his stone. See where this picture was taken. [?]

Unconsecrated burial ground of prostitutes, paupers and other outcasts. The memorial shrine is on an iron gate in front of a lot filled with construction materials. I read somewhere that the shrine may be torn down soon. See where this picture was taken. [?]
